TeAda Productions is excited to announce CreAtive Healing Lab (CHL) which will take place from October 2025 through June 2026. As part of this series, all-star guest teaching artists will facilitate workshops that combine the arts, social justice, and collective healing. The goal of CHL is to be a sanctuary-third place for community to gather, process current events, imagine sustainable futures, community-build, and heal through sharing space and creating art.
The 1st workshop of the Spring is titled “Healing Through Collective Witnessing: Playback Theatre” and will be led by Dr. Joyce Lu, and Linett Luna of LA Playback Theatre.
About the workshop: This introductory-level workshop introduces participants to the most widely used form in Playback Theatre: the fluid sculpture.
Through dynamic and low-stakes exercises, we'll share and perform stories related to themes of collective witnessing, our shared political moment, hope, and dreams. Workshop participants can expect to engage and sharpen their skills in deep listening, improvisation, and reflection.

About the facilitators: Joyce Lu is a performing artist, director, and educator. She is the founder and director of LAPlayback Theatre Company. Joyce also has training in psychodrama and is a certified Feldenkrais Practitioner and an Associate Professor in Theatre and Asian American Studies at Pomona College.
Linett Luna Tovar is an illegalized writer, performer, and facilitator based in Pomona, CA by way of Zacatecas, México. She has worked in youth empowerment, immigrant justice, and cultural organizing for over a decade. linett wants to explore with you how we can apply our innate creative abilities towards our collective liberation!
