TeAda VIRTUAL Open House 2025: Online Community Gathering

TeAda Ohana:

Sending you love, aloha and power at this time. As a nomadic theater based in Los Angeles, we have heard from many of you reaching out to check on us, as we are reaching out to check on you.

As you may have seen, ruthless attacks on immigrants, refugees, and asylum seekers at this time have reached a boiling point throughout many of our beloved communities in the Los Angeles area, and across Turtle Island. We stand firmly and in solidarity with those actively resisting the violence the military, and the U.S government is continuing to afflict, and incite on protestors, families, and innocent lives. We would like to express deep gratitude for our close partners at The Program for Torture Victims (PTV) - for continuing to be a sanctuary space where newly-arrived immigrants are both welcome, and are offered continuous support from a team of dedicated, fearless staff. TeAda would NOT be able to do our work amplifying immigrant, refugee stories without PTV. We invite you to continue supporting them, as well as the following organizations who are fighting for the rights and lives of immigrants: CHIRLACARECENImmDefLAFLA, and Neighborhood Legal Services.

In light of current events in our city, the originally scheduled in-person end of season fundraiser + celebration on Saturday, June 28th will now be a VIRTUAL event.

Revised Event Info

June 28, 2025 - TeAda Virtual Community Space

Location - Zoom

Time - 2-3pm

To prioritize the safety of our communities - who are particularly vulnerable, and understandably in deep fear of traveling anywhere at this time - we will instead host a virtual space dedicated to creative community processing, story/resource sharing, and healing. This will be an opportunity to check in with each other and respond creatively and collectively to these times.

In the future, we plan to host KNOW YOUR RIGHTS, and JAIL SUPPORT training sessions that will equip attendees with necessary tools to advocate for/support immigrants, refugees, and asylum seekers at that time. Join our mailing list @ bit.ly/teadamailing to receive updates.

We invite you to continue organizing, to continue fighting, to continue standing up for your neighbors, and immigrant/refugee/asylee community EVERYWHERE. We will continue to share resources that promote safety, wellness, and awareness of law enforcement for the community, and we kindly invite you to share any resources you may have to info@teada.org or our IG @teadaproductions

We will continue to stand with our communities, and respond to any needs addressed. Let’s continue to stand together. We’re all we got.
